Today we want to take you on a journey…
There once were two brothers living on the streets. They thought they were living an adventure but the adventure turned out to be just no fun! They wanted to go back home but home was too far. They were stuck in a town far away, a town called Kakamega. Bad things were happening and bad people were surrounding them.
One day they met our social workers, our life changers. Together they gained trust and offered help to these little ones. That was when the adventure really began!
The two life changers had to play detectives… They hunted high and low. They travelled by matatu mini bus for miles, they still didn’t find home. The road got bad, so they got on a motorbike but still not close enough. The road got worse! So the life changers along with the two brothers started to walk… and walk… and walk! They walked up and down, up and down, six times over six hills and through six valleys and then… the brothers called out “Hapo!” (There!)
After walking six and a half kilometres in the African sun, the little home of these little boys was in sight!!
The life changers watched this family reunite and then went on their walking way…. Ready to return next week for support follow ups and therapy!
This is the true story of two no longer street children that have found family once more this week. We are celebrating!
This is also the true story of two determined social workers that without your help we could not fund.
